Jackson the Elf

Jackson the Elf is our newest family tradition. Every morning Katelyn and Kendall wake up ready to find where Jackson is hiding. He flies to the North Pole every night to tell Santa how good or bad the girls were. A few nights ago, we asked Katelyn what she thought Jackson would say about that day - Katelyn said "A whole lot of good and a llllliiiiitttttllllle drop of bad." How cute is that?

Here are few places that Jackson has been hiding. We've had so much fun with Jackson this Christmas.

One day he got into the toilet paper and made a big mess.

He decided to help Daddy make coffee.
Kendall said "Uh-oh" because Jackson knocked over the plant.

Is that him in the chandelier?

Katelyn thought he must have been looking for cookies.

Katelyn's Christmas Program

"Behold the Star"

"Silent Night"

Katelyn had her Christmas program at school last week. It was precious. She did a great job. She has come a long way since last year. Watching her sing is truly one of those things that I have lived my whole life to see. It's priceless!! Her class signed Silent Night and that was adorable and about moved me to tears. So, enjoy the video and the pictures.

Christmas is coming!!

This is the Elf on the Shelf. He's the newest member of our family. Katelyn named him Jackson. I guess since we never got to use that name for a son, she decided to give that name to our elf. He appears somewhere different every morning. During the night, he flies home (the North Pole) and reports the girls' behavior to Santa and lands somewhere different each morning. He's a lot of fun and a great new tradition we've started.

The girls watched Polar Express after we decorated the tree. I don't know who loves that movie more, the girls, or their mom and dad.

Our tree. I always complain about the mess of a real tree, but I do love it when it's up, especially the smell.

This is Kendall decorating the tree. If you know her, you don't need any further explanation.

We've spent a large part of our week getting our house decorated for Christmas. It has been a lot of fun. The girls are such a fun age for the "magic" of the season. Katelyn is also at a great age to understand the true meaning of this time of year. We've been reading the Christmas story at night and really trying to emphasize what this time of year is all about. Kendall loves it all. She likes taking ornaments off of the tree! What a fun time.

Katelyn's Thanksgiving Feast

Katelyn had her Thanksgiving Feast right before Thanksgiving. Her class was dressed up like Indians. She looked adorable. We had a lot of fun at the feast. I'm so reminded of all of the many blessings I have this time of year, the two greatest being my precious girls.

Choir Performance

Our little musician.

Stairsteps! Mallory, Katelyn, and Amelia. I can't believe they have on the same dress.

Davis, Mallory, Katelyn, Parker, and Connor--they're getting too big!!

Last Sunday night Katelyn sang in "big church" for the first time in her choir class. She did GREAT. She has come a long ways in her performing years. She looked like she genuinely had a great time. It was a proud moment for us. So sweet to hear those little voices!

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treating at Mimi's house.

Cute little Tinkerbells!

Here are the girls with Annslee and Adalyn. They were trick or treating at Mimi's house.

Kendall and JoJo at Southland's Trunk or Treat.

Nana and her "sweet girls." That's what she calls them!

Mimi and her little Tinkerbells.

Grandmama and the girls.

For Halloween this year we went to Americus and let the girls "trick or treat" at their grandparents house. We also went to a "trunk or treat" at Southland and saw a lot of old friends. The girls went to Nana's house and also many of her neighbors. We visited lots of houses in Mimi's neighborhood and finished the night off by going to Grandmama's house. It was a lot of fun to share that fun night with family this year. And, if I may say so myself, they were the cutest Tinkerbells ever!!
